SCHEDULE:
Tagset nominations/prompts open - August 25
Tagset nominations/prompts close - October 17, 11:59pm
Works due / collection reveals - Oct 31, 12:01am
Creator reveals - Nov 7, 12:01am
All times in Eastern US time.
NOMINATIONS:
- Please refer to our nominations guidelines!
- We are using the most recent Summer of Horror tagset, so you do not need to nominate anything that was already approved for that. We have cleared nominations for that tagset, which means any tags you submitted are still there, but you now have room to nominate a full new slate of tags if you want. :)
PROMPTS AND REQUESTS:
- You may make between 1-20 prompts. Each prompt must include fandom, medium (art and/or fic), requested character or character group, and horror subgenre.
- You may request the same fandom multiple times.
- You may choose to make your prompt anonymous.
- Your prompt must use fandoms and requested relationships from the tagset. If your tags aren't in the tagset, you can nominate them, up until when nominations close (see schedule above).
- If you have participated in a past round of Summer of Horror and want to emphasize that you still want to receive a particular fandom/ship/request, you are welcome to submit it as a prompt. However, someone may choose to write for a past request of yours either way.
PROMPT CLAIMS:
- Claiming a prompt does not mean you are committing to fulfill it.
- Multiple people can claim the same prompt.
- You are welcome to claim as many prompts as you want, whether or not you think you can make fills for them all. We recognize that AO3's prompt organization is not great and that claiming prompts is the easiest way to find them again.
POSTING:
- You can create for any new prompt or any request from any past round of Summer of Horror. Be aware that if you're creating for an older request, it's possible the recipient may no longer be interested or may not notice that you've created it for them. However, you are still welcome to create for any request that inspires you.
- As with the regular exchange, your work should match the requested fandom, medium, requested character or character group, and horror subgenre, and must respect the recipient's Do Not Wants (DNWs). All works should be complete at time of reveals. There is no wordcount minimum.
- To post to the collection, you must first claim a prompt. If your work is a treat for an older request, you can claim the top prompt on this page, which is a "dummy" prompt for all late treats. Once you have claimed a prompt and are ready to post a work, go to your prompt claims page and select "Fulfill." If the method you choose does not automatically gift your work to your intended recipient, be sure to put their username in the "gift to" field!
- Multiple people can create for the same prompt or request.
- You must create your work yourself. Your work may not contain computer-generated art or text, graphics from another source (such as photomanips, aesthetics/mood boards, or screen captures), substantial sections of material quoted or copied from canon, or plagiarized material.
- If you create a work based on a request for a group of characters (eg, Sidney Crosby & Evgeni Malkin (Men's Hockey RPF)), you may create either a gen or shippy gift for those characters, as long as the gift respects your recipient's DNWs. You must include all the characters in the group. If the characters were nominated as an ensemble group without their individual names listed, i.e., "The Avengers," then you must include at least two characters from that ensemble.
You must be 18+ to participate in this fest.
